Why late flights move further

A flight that is already running late in the evening has usually been late all day, with each sector inheriting the delay of the one before. Late at night there are also fewer spare crews and aircraft to absorb problems. None of this makes a delay certain, but it does mean that a booking built around a landing after ten should be built with a little flexibility, and that the thread should hear about any change quickly.

Delayed landing: the first thing to do

Write to the thread the moment the delay is announced, even if the new time is uncertain. Before she has set out, the start can usually move to match the new landing, and there is no charge for doing so. The earlier the message arrives, the easier it is to hold the same therapist at the new hour, and the more likely it is that the evening goes ahead with nothing lost but a little sleep.

If the new landing is still tonight

A delay usually moves a booking rather than cancelling it. The new start is agreed in the thread, with her journey time to your room checked again for the later hour. If the delay pushes the landing past one or two in the morning, it may be worth shortening the booking, from ninety minutes to one hour for example, so that sleep is not squeezed out entirely. The figure changes with the length, and the deposit is adjusted to match.

If the flight is cancelled or diverted

A cancellation or a diversion to another airport is a different matter. If you will not reach the room tonight, the booking can move to another date: one free move within fourteen days is available when requested more than twenty-four hours before the booked time. Inside that window, the notice scale applies. If a missed connection has handed you an unexpected night near the runway, a new booking can be arranged for that night as well.

The notice scale, in plain terms

If a booking has to be cancelled, what is kept depends on when the message arrives. A message that arrives more than a day before the booked hour costs nothing, and the whole deposit comes back. Inside the final twenty-four hours, before she has left, half the deposit is kept. Once her journey out has started, the full deposit is kept. If the hour you released is taken by another guest, the deposit is returned in full.

An example in halves

Take ninety minutes booked for half past midnight and confirmed with half its fee. The delay is announced that afternoon and you cancel at once, inside the final twenty-four hours but well before she sets out: half of that deposit is kept and the other half comes back to you. Had you moved the hour instead of cancelling, nothing would have been kept at all. Had she already been on her way, the whole deposit would have been kept unless the hour was re-let.

Airline delays and force majeure

A delayed or cancelled flight is, unfortunately, on the traveller's side of the line. It is treated as a move or a cancellation read on the notice scale, not as force majeure. Force majeure covers events outside anyone's control that make the visit itself impossible, such as a transport shutdown affecting her journey, and in that case the deposit becomes credit. Keeping the thread updated

On a delayed night, the habit that saves the evening is keeping the thread current. A short message with each new estimated landing lets the start be adjusted without a fresh round of questions, and it means she is never waiting in a lobby for a guest who is still in the air. When she is already on her way

Sometimes the delay is announced late, after the journey out has begun. At that point the whole deposit is kept under the notice scale, but the booking itself need not be lost. If the new landing is still tonight, the start can be pushed back and she can wait for the agreed extra time, or the length can be shortened so that the evening still closes at a sensible hour. Rates do not change with the hour

A booking moved from eleven to half past one is priced exactly as it was, whichever length was booked. Nothing is added for the later start, for the airport or for the weekend, and every figure includes taxes. The booking page sets out how the deposit and the balance are paid.

Her decisions, delayed or not

However the evening changes, your therapist still decides what the session includes. She tells you her limits before it begins and keeps them throughout. She may decline a booking, including one moved to a much later hour, and she may end a visit at any point. Everyone present has to be twenty-one or over, however late the hour has become.
